UNCONSCIOUS ACCOMPLICE

When plotting a burglary, wouldbe robbers no doubt consider the risk of witnesses, alarm systems and security cameras.

What one suspected thief didn’t consider was the possibility of being knocked out cold by his accomplice.

During the early hours of Valentine’s Day, two men were captured on CCTV in Shanghai apparently trying to break into a warehouse.

The first man can be seen launching a brick at a window in an attempt to shatter it, but the brick bounces off the glass and falls to the ground.

Just as the second man hurls his brick and sends it flying, his friend walks in front of him.

In the blink of an eye, it hits him in the head and he’s down for the count.

His concerned mate rushes over to check on him and can be seen dragging his concussed companion across the car park.

After police released the footage it went viral, with viewers quick to label the pair ‘the dumbest criminals in the world’.

‘If all burglars were like this, we wouldn’t need to work overtime,’ a spokesman for the Shanghai Public Security Bureau quipped. ●
