■ FIND out to whom you address the application and spell their name correctly.
■ Be concise but detailed in listing achievements. Employers want to know as specifically as possible what an applicant brings to the party.
■ The resume should be easy to read. Use clear headings and sub-headings, white space to highlight points and dot points, not blocks of text. Use easy-toread fonts but not so big it looks amateurish.
■ Do not submit a resume comprising more than five pages. Most resumes have two to four pages, depending on the profession or work history.
