ONE in three employees are comfortable being ‘‘friends’’ with their boss on social networks, a new survey reveals.

Robert Half International’s latest Workplace Survey also finds 63 per cent of employees are comfortable being connected to colleagues, 34 per cent with people they manage and 22 per cent with their clients.

But 36 per cent of employees have seen the use of social networking sites negatively impact workplace relationships.

Director Andrew Brushfield says social media can be a great networking tool but employees should be aware employers are increasingly checking them out online.
