Rev up to finish apprenticeship in the fast lane
ANATIONAL search is underway for a mechanical engineer to spend the final year of their apprenticeship with a V8 Supercar team, maintaining the Trading Post Racing car in next year’s race series.
Application entries are now open to third-year apprentices to join the Ford Performance Racing team at its workshop in Melbourne.
The Trading Post Racing Recruit will travel with the team and driver Will Davison to several races in next year’s V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Telstra Media Classifieds head Michael Padden says the program will give a talented young apprentice mechanic their big break.
‘‘Chances like these just don’t come up often,’’ he says.
‘‘We encourage everyone with a passion for working on the best cars in the business to give entering a go.’’
Applications can be made through the website www.tradingpost.com/recruit. They close on July 25. Finalists will have a panel interview and onsite testing.
