CAREER progression is the top priority for most administrative professionals and employers who do not recognise this risk losing crucial staff members, new research shows.

Robert Half International’s OfficeTeam division survey found 59 per cent of admin workers are actively seeking or considering looking for a new job.

More than half of them, 54 per cent, are doing so because they want better career development, 25 per cent want increased responsibility and 21 per cent say they are bored.

Associate director Stephen Langhammer says the research shows administrative staff are no different from other employees in regularly evaluating their careers.
