Expo to dish out career options
THE Tertiary Studies and Careers Expo Adelaide presents a perfect opportunity for anyone thinking of undertaking further education and training or wishing to gain access to a wide range of career options.
All the answers to important questions can be found in the one location at the Adelaide Convention Centre over two days, starting tomorrow.
With about 200 representatives on site from a diverse group of exhibitors, including all South Australian universities and many interstate and overseas universities, private education colleges, TAFE institutes, graduate employment advisers, defence recruiters, vocational supporters, government agencies and overseas work programs, TSCEA represents the most inclusive careers, education and training expo of its kind in the state.
At TSCEA, visitors will find important information for school students and adult applicants on new and exciting courses and all study options available in 2011 and beyond.
There will be experts providing advice on study program options and apprenticeship procedures to graduate outcomes and details on the range of financial support that is available to individuals.
This year, for the first time, practitioners from the Career Development Association of Australia will be available during the expo for short consultations about possible pathways and career transitions.
A number of South Australian government departments will be on site to provide details on their programs and advise on employment opportunities within specific industry sectors and professional areas.
With skill shortages in key industry areas, representatives at TSCEA will also be able to provide advice on how to gain skills and qualifications for these industries.
New competitions and attractive prizes provide even more reason to attend this exciting event.
Visitors can win a $1000 laptop or apply for a $2000 bursary grant to help offset the costs of tertiary study.
Competition and bursary application forms can be downloaded from the website. The sponsors of the event include University of Adelaide, University of South Australia, Flinders University, TAFE SA and ACPET.
About 10,000 visitors are expected to attend and the extensive seminar program will be keenly patronised by those wishing to hear directly from a number of specialist presenters about the latest information on tertiary studies, further training and employment opportunities. For those who are serious about their future, TSCEA is the one expo they cannot afford to miss.
The Tertiary Studies and Careers Expo Adelaide is held on Sunday, June 19, between 10am and 4pm, and Monday, June 20, between 9.30am and 1.30pm, at the Adelaide Convention Centre. Admission is free.
