Health and safety at work funding push
IMPROVING work health and safety for young and new workers will be part of the focus of new research funded by SafeWork SA.
Industrial Relations Minister Russell Wortley says $412,000 will be used to grant funding in research priority areas, which also include the uncovering of systemic factors behind workplace injury, improving safety in small businesses, safety in aged care and in-home services, and in the mining and quarrying industries.
Applications close on Friday, August 26, with details available on the website www.safework.sa.gov.au
‘‘High-quality research is critical to improving and expanding the base of work health and safety knowledge in South Australia,’’ Mr Wortley says.
