Lead­ers of fu­ture

FIFTY fu­ture lead­ers of South Aus­tralia’s de­fence sec­tor are be­ing guided to grow and en­hance the in­dus­try, worth bil­lions of dol­lars to the econ­omy.

AFL Ser­vices Pty op­er­a­tions man­ager Adam Levi, be­low, is among those in the SA De­fence In­dus­try Lead­er­ship pro­gram, which pro­vides men­tor­ing and train­ing for work­ers to de­velop busi­ness skills.

Par­tic­i­pants are nom­i­nated by their com­pa­nies and men­tored by de­fence alumni.

They re­ceive an Ad­vanced Di­ploma in Busi­ness Man­age­ment, spe­cial­is­ing in de­fence, through the De­fence Team­ing Cen­tre at Mawson Lakes’ In­no­va­tion House. The eight-month course is over­seen by the Deloittes Lead­er­ship Academy and is de­signed to en­cour­age small-to-medium en­ter­prises to try to ex­ceed ex­pected stan­dards.

AFL Ser­vices has been a sup­plier to the Aus­tralian De­fence Force for seven years and spe­cialises in ve­hi­cle re­fur­bish­ment. Chief ex­ec­u­tive Lind­say Scragg says the com­pany is proud of Mr Levi’s achieve­ments.
