Awards for top staff on Yorke Penin­sula

WORK­ERS on Yorke Penin­sula are be­ing recog­nised for their achieve­ments in the work­place through the Cel­e­bra­tion of Em­ploy­ment Awards.

The awards will hon­our the re­gion’s ap­pren­tice, trainee, school-based ap­pren­tice and em­ployee of the year, who can be em­ployed as a ca­sual, part-time or full-time, and will re­ceive a plaque and cash prize.

Nom­i­na­tions now are open for the awards, with pre­vi­ous win­ners hav­ing shown a com­mit­ment to go above the call of duty, pro­vide out­stand­ing cus­tomer ser­vice and ex­cel in their cho­sen field.

Em­ploy­ers of the year in small, medium and large or­gan­i­sa­tions also will be hon­oured for pro­vid­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties in the lo­cal em­ploy­ment mar­ket, such as in­no­va­tive em­ployee ini­tia­tives, em­ploy­ing work­ers from mi­nor­ity groups and hav­ing a con­sis­tent com­mit­ment to train­ing.

All nom­i­nees must work or live in the District Coun­cil of the Cop­per Coast, District Coun­cil of Yorke Penin­sula, District Coun­cil of the Barunga West or Wake­field Re­gional Coun­cil ar­eas.

Nom­i­na­tion forms, which in­clude the cri­te­ria for each cat­e­gory, are avail­able from coun­cil and Re­gional De­vel­op­ment Aus­tralia Yorke and Mid North of­fices and must be re­ceived by 5pm on Au­gust 26.

The win­ners will be an­nounced at the awards din­ner to be held at Wal­la­roo Town Hall on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 8.
