FINANCIAL services workers in the AsiaPacific region are more optimistic than their counterparts in the US and Europe.
The Michael Page Global Financial Services Report surveyed 2700 professionals about their outlook for the industry and also found the Asia-pacific was viewed as a strong market and an attractive work destination.
Regional director Sharmini Thomas says the industry has remained reasonably resilient compared with international markets so hiring activity has been stable and salary increases were offered at the end of last year.
‘‘ The report for 2012 also reveals that financial services professionals, no matter where they are based, continue to place great importance on career progression and rate this as the most important factor in searching for a new job,’’ Thomas says.
‘‘ Remuneration also remains high on the list and increasing compensation would be an incentive to relocate for work for the majority of survey respondents.’’
