SKILLED environmental advisers will be more difficult to find once the carbon tax is implemented on July 1, Kelly Scientific Resources warns businesses.

Director Paul O’Brien says businesses have no time to waste before developing strategies to prepare for the new tax.

Sustainability practices and policies should be at the forefront of business planning.

‘‘ The challenge Australian businesses face is that this sector is relatively new, which means current demand far outweighs the number of skilled and experienced professional,’’ he says.

‘‘ This shortage is only going to get worse post the implementation of the carbon tax.’’
