WORKERS most fear making a mistake at work, a survey by Accountemps finds.

It says 28 per cent of respondents fear making errors on the job while a further 18 per cent say they fear dealing with difficult customers or clients.

Chairman Max Messmer says fear of failure holds many people back in their careers but advises that new ideas never take shape without smart risks.

‘‘ Mistakes will happen from time to time and a healthy concern for avoiding them improves job performance as long as that concern doesn’t undermine one’s confidence,’’ he says. He suggests asking a mentor for advice.
