IF you are cer­tain that par­tic­u­lar in­di­vid­u­als have made com­ments about you that con­sti­tute dis­crim­i­na­tion or ha­rass­ment, then you are en­ti­tled to use the mech­a­nisms in place in your or­gan­i­sa­tion to deal with such be­hav­iour. Gen­er­ally the process for this will be for­mally re­port­ing the in­ci­dent or in­ci­dents to a mem­ber of the HR team. Also con­sider whether there is an al­ter­na­tive method of re­solv­ing the is­sue. Think about whether you feel able to have a con­ver­sa­tion with the per­son spread­ing the gossip and let­ting them know you are un­happy with what they have been say­ing.
