German tabloid Bild reports BMW halted the production line in its Munich plant earlier this month after two workers passed out from the combined effects of alcohol, amphetamines and synthetic marijuana. BMW says the incident interrupted production for about 40 minutes and cost the company a “five-figure sum”.
The Australian Mint is producing a series of Holden Heritage coins to mark the end of local manufacturing in October. The 50c coins, 11 in total, commemorate the Holden 48-215 through to the VC Commodore and are $15 each.

Offensive graphics or slogans on vehicles can now be reported to the Advertising Standards Bureau under a new grievance process. People can report examples at www.adstandards.com.au, where they will be asked to supply pictures of the offending vehicle’s artwork.
The base price of VW’s Golf will rise slightly when the Mk 7.5 model lands in July. The base 92 TSI engine departs and the new starter motor is the punchier 110kW turbo four. The Golf also picks up auto safety braking and 16-inch alloys.
