area will retain its historic charm. ‘‘The whole of Toorak Gardens is one of those areas that were developed probably at the turn of the century with a lot of villas and bungalows,’’ Ms Kelly says.

She agrees with Mr Webb that the schools near Swaine Ave make it a great place for a family.

‘‘It’s in the Marryatville school zone and it has lots of good private and public schools close by. It’s a very hard area to get into and is also good for capital appreciation,’’ she says.

Toorak Gardens is a small suburb covering approximately 1sq km, according to RP Data. The median sales price is $1.06 million and 34.2 per cent of households are couples with children.

Convenient: Rick and Donna Webb say Toorak Gardens is close to the city, schools and parks.
