FORMER Adelaide Crows captain Mark Ricciuto is helping to develop Aruma River Retreat at Walker Flat because it’s reminiscent of his favourite holiday spot.

‘‘Some of our best family holidays have occurred at our river property at Waikerie and it was the similarity between our property and the Aruma development that first attracted me to become involved in the site’s restoration,’’ Mr Ricciuto says.

‘‘Located on a big bend in the river means the water is normally flat and perfect for skiing and because there are very few shacks around, it is quiet and safe when you are on or out of the water.’’

The complex has a tennis court, community swimming pool and nearby walking trails.

Aruma River Retreat and Beachcomber at Black Point on the Yorke Peninsula are being developed by Burke Urban.

Twelve of Beachcomber’s 30 allotments have been sold and house and land packages start at $464,249.
