Your step up as the A Air apparent
An Air Apartments penthouse offers views to die for, writes Tom Bowden.
AN exclusive Air Apartments penthouse offers premier apartment living and an unsurpassed level of prestige, says vendor Stephen Norris. Mr Norris has owned the penthouse with developer and business partner Gordon Pickard ever since they developed the apartment complex eight years ago and says the first thing you notice when you enter is the space.
‘‘There are very high ceilings and it’s got sections of the ground floor opening up into the second floor, so we’ve got a huge volume and panoramic views looking north towards the city and parklands, Adelaide to the west and the Hills to the east,’’ he says.
‘‘It’s a changing view during the different seasons and, with the way the parklands are used for the different events, you’re always watching something happening so it’s never a dull view.’’
The home features three bedrooms, all with ensuites and Mr Norris says the master suite is simply huge.
‘‘The master runs right across the whole width of the unit with a huge ensuite at one end and a walk-in robe at the other,’’ he says.
The kitchen features top-end Miele appliances, an island bench and an attached butler’s pantry with wine storage and joins an open-plan dining and entertaining area that opens to large balconies.
‘‘It’s got a huge benchtop that is oversized and we’ve had over 100 people up there and it wasn’t crowded, it’s just fantastic for entertaining,’’ Mr Norris says. He says no expense was spared on the apartment’s features.
‘‘We didn’t cut any corners and have full marble tiling to all the ensuites and we’ve got parquetry flooring to the main ground floor area and a marble benchtop to the kitchen area, so everything was the best we could buy,’’ he says.
Mr Norris says the apartment complex’s amenities include a tennis court, outdoor pool, indoor 25 m heated pool, spa, sauna, theatre room, function room, party room and basement parking.
‘‘There are only six penthouses in the Air Apartments and this is one of the biggest so this certainly ranks as one of the best apartments in Adelaide,’’ Mr Norris says.
‘‘I’ll miss the prestige of living in such a beautiful home – it’s a magnificent piece of real estate and it will be very hard to replace.
‘‘You’re five minutes from everywhere and can walk to the city.’’
