Design is perfect for a chosen view
This hillside location is hard to beat, writes Tom Dougherty.
AHOME overlooking a reserve at Greenwith was designed to highlight the stunning views, vendor Ellana Cruise says.
‘‘Because of where it is situated we had to build into the the side of a hill, and from that hill you have all of Cobblers Creek Reserve, which is never going to get built on,’’ she says.
‘‘The views are amazing and the whole idea was, because we have a very wide block, to build a very wide-frontage house and take advantage of those views.’’
The two-storey home has four bedroom, all on the top level.
The master is at one end and features a walk-in robe and an ensuite with a shower.
‘‘We virtually have a view from every window, every bedroom has a view except for the fourth bedroom, which is at the back,’’ she says.
Two of the other bedrooms are at the front and they both have built-in robes.
At the far end of the house from the bedrooms is an openplan kitchen and family room, with a dining room with balcony adjacent.
The kitchen features a pantry, a breakfast bar and white cupboards.
‘‘The place is excellent for entertaining, we have had some great parties over the years,’’ Ms Cruise says.
‘‘We have a very large entertaining area outside that comes off the family room.’’
Also on the top level is a twoway bathroom with a bath and a shower, and a laundry with external access.
At the back of the home is a shade-sail-covered entertaining area, and there is also a pergola area attached to the family room.
The bottom level of the home consists of a games room, a double garage with an automatic door, a workshop also with an automatic door, a laundry and a cellar.
‘‘Another major selling point is that you can easily run a business from it, we have all these years and there is a very big storage and workshop area,’’ she says.
