Extensive views over Linear Park
It offers a new level of family living, writes Tom Dougherty.
ATWO-STOREY home at Highbury is in a fantastic position overlooking Linear Park and its two levels lend itself to a family with kids, vendor Russell Burton says.
‘‘We had a sketch ourselves, and then a draftsman made it all work,’’ he says.
‘‘We wanted to make the most of the wonderful view of the Torrens Linear Park, it is a unique block because it only has one adjoining neighbour.’’
Mr Burton, who is the managing director of First National Real Estate Burton Groves and is selling his own home, says some of the features of the two-storey home include the view from the entertaining area.
‘‘A lot of the windows face on to the park and they are all commercial grade windows and cafe doors that open out to a deck that provides that beautiful entertaining area to take in all of the views,’’ he says.
‘‘In addition to that the home offers an area at the top that is quite separate to the area at the bottom, ideally suited to a family of teenage children so that they have their own space and their own carparks.’’
The home has the master bedroom on the top floor, and it has a walk-in robe and an ensuite.
Also on the top floor is an open-plan kitchen, dining and family room, with bi-fold doors out to a deck.
The kitchen features an island bench, a walk-in pantry and modern appliances.
Adjacent to the entrance of the house is a study/retreat on one side and another living area opposite, and there is also a triple-car garage with internal access.
There are three more bedrooms on the ground floor, and two of them have built-in robes. Also on the lower level is a laundry with external access to a double carport, a home theatre room and a bathroom with a bath and a shower.
