On reflection, a great spot
There’s more than one room with a view in this well located Tennyson property, writes Tom Dougherty.
ATWO-STOREY home at Tennyson is in a glorious spot and makes the most of the view of West Lakes, vendor Gerry Ancone says. ‘‘It is a beautiful place, it is absolutely glorious,’’ he says.
‘‘To highlight the aspect, we saw a display home that had a mirror at the end of the dining room, so we did that and you get the reflection of the lake inside the house.’’
The property has three bedrooms, with the master on the top floor.
It spans almost the entire width of the house and has a walk-in robe, an ensuite with a bath and a shower and a sliding glass door out to a balcony with water views.
Also on the top floor is a study that also has a door out to the balcony.
The other two bedrooms are on the ground floor and they both have built-in robes, and one has an ensuite with a shower. Most of the lower level is taken up by an open-plan kitchen, dining and living room, with glass along one wall looking out to the water.
The kitchen has a breakfast bar, a butlers pantry and a dishwasher.
‘‘The kitchen is what you would call enormous, the bench is 1.1m wide and 4m long,’’ he says.
‘‘My wife loves cooking and we find that we socialise at the bench.’’
A sliding glass door in the living room opens out to a paved veranda.
There is also a curved window in the kitchen that looks out on to a paved pergola, which has ceiling fans and is ideal for outdoor entertaining.
Also on the ground floor is a laundry with external access.
The home also has a double garage with a roller door.
‘‘I think it would suit someone like us, retirees; three bedrooms is plenty, and there is a big office, a big kitchen and a big outdoor area,’’ Mr Ancone says.
