Great home for a family
The location attracted the vendor to this large family property, writes Tom Dougherty.
ABUNGALOW at Kensington Gardens has been the ideal family home for vendor Stephen for more than 30 years — he was attracted by the location.
‘‘We had a young growing family, it has always been a great family home in a good area,’’ he says.
‘‘It’s got lots of trees, animals, and birdlife, it is very close to the Kensington Gardens park, which is always great for children.’’
The home has up to five bedrooms, with the master on the ground floor and featuring a walk-in robe and direct access to a bathroom with a bath and a shower.
There are three more bedrooms with built-in robes, two of them are upstairs and have access to a balcony.
‘‘When we first bought it the house had a granny flat separate, we ended up joining them together and also re-built the back of the house,’’ he says.
‘‘We basically kept the house updated over the years.’’
At the front downstairs is a sitting room, which has a dining room adjacent and a cellar underneath.
There is also an office at the front that overlooks the front yard.
‘‘It was a good house for entertaining,’’ he says.
The main hub of the home is an openplan kitchen and living room, which has polished timber floors and bi-fold doors that open to a veranda across the back.
The kitchen has a butlers pantry, a breakfast bar, white cupboards and stainless steel appliances.
‘‘You have that space for things like second fridges, the kitchen is a good size,’’ Stephen says.
In the backyard of the home is an inground pool, and a grass tennis court.
The property also has an additional living room, a laundry, and a second bathroom with a shower.
