AKENSINGTON property was perfect for Aja Goh because it meant schools and cafes were nearby. ‘‘We wanted to be in the eastern suburbs close to some good schools and the convenience of being close to The Parade as well, which is fantastic because you can get a coffee or walk up there for a meal,’’ she says.
‘‘The neighbourhood is also really safe and well established.
‘‘Originally it was a small cottage which the previous owners basically gutted and built a completely new house around.’’
The property has up to four bedrooms, with the master located at the front.
It has a built-in robe, a walk-in robe, and an ensuite.
‘‘It is really nice and full of light, in the mornings it is bright,’’ she says.
‘‘It has a double showerhead which is nice, it gives it that extra bit of luxury.
‘‘There is lots of wardrobe space because it has both the walk-in and built-in robe.’’
Two more bedrooms towards the back both have built-in robes.
Off of the entrance hallway is a living room, which could be used as a bedroom if required.
The back part of the property consists of an open-plan kitchen, dining and family room, with a tiled floor.
The kitchen has an island bench with a breakfast bar, a pantry, a dishwasher, and stainless steel appliances.
‘‘There is plenty of storage, both my husband and I like to cook,’’ she says.
‘‘There is a really great island bench that we find when we have people over they like to congregate around the island counter, and we can cook and entertain at the same time. ‘‘It has nice appliances as well.’’ Two sets of french doors in the family room open out to the backyard, one set opens to a covered entertaining area with a Vergola.
‘‘It is a great place to entertain, especially in summer, we have a vergola with a rain sensor so if we happen to leave it open and it rains, it will automatically close,’’ she says.
‘‘Although we like to have it open as much as we can, the space can be used all year round.’’
Attached to the front of the home is a double garage with an electronic panel-lift door and drive-through access to the rear of the property.
