Tourist sex ‘angered Agung’

The Advertiser - - WORLD -

MOUNT Agung has been on the verge of a major eruption because of frisky tourists, a local priest claims.

The priest from the village of Muntig said the mountain had woken because of tourists having sex on its slopes, a popular hiking spot. Agung was angry because the “bule”, white people, had intercourse and menstruated on it.

“The climbers did that,” he said.

The volcano has sat largely dormant since its last eruption in 1963, which killed more than 1100 people, and has been slowly rumbling back to life since August.

As of yesterday, more than 134,000 people have fled the evacuation zone, 75km northeast of Kuta.
