Undies in outside run
A RECORD crowd enjoyed perfect weather for yesterday’s sixth annual People’s Choice Undies Run in the eastern parklands.
Adelaide’s East End was bathed in sunshine as more than 1600 people stripped down to the bare essentials for the charity fundraiser, which raises awareness and funds for bowel cancer research, held before the Santos Tour Down Under Classic.
Families were out in force, with babies and toddlers decked out in mini capes as they were allowed to participate in the 2.3km event for the first time.
Anastasia Lamont, 27, of Hectorville, took along good friends Felix Hertzer, Damien Roberts, Jade Hipkiss-Winder, Caleb Staehr and Nadia Kotska for the run and all had an “amazing” time, she said.
“We thought we’d get a crew together and it’s been really enjoyable,” she said.
“It raises awareness for a good cause and, because everyone strips down to our underwear, it’s more appealing for younger people.
“It was also great to see all the young kids taking part, they just looked absolutely gorgeous.” PAGE 19: BACHELOR BRINGS HIS LOVE HOME, IN ADELAIDE CONFIDENTIAL
