TRAFFIC interruption on North Tce and King William St is expected to clear today as the intersection reopens from 6am after a fortnight of disruption because of tram works.

Up to 250 workers were onsite building the intersection over each 24-hour period, with other works including track installation and major concrete pours. Tram services between the Entertainment Centre and Victoria Square will resume on January 22, after the final stage of the Tour Down Under.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Stephen Mullighan said it was critical for the work to be done at the quietest possible time.

“It’s a credit to everyone ... that they have been able to build this incredibly complex intersection within this short time frame,” he said.
