Ride over but Tez gal­lops back for the Cup

Payne joined Teresa Palmer on set as film­ing wrapped on their movie Ride Like a Girl.

The Mel­bourne Cup­win­ning jockey thanked the cast and crew for their ded­i­ca­tion in bring­ing her story to life over the past three months.

The film fea­tures many fa­mous names in­clud­ing direc­tor Rachel Grif­fiths who makes a cameo ap­pear­ance play­ing a nun.

Ade­laide ac­tress Teresa, who plays Michelle, right, in the Aussie movie, has taken to so­cial me­dia to thank Michelle for her sup­port. “Thank you @michelle­j­payne_ for en­trust­ing me with your in­spi­ra­tional story. I’m hon­oured and humbled. Life chang­ing and mov­ing in every way,” Teresa wrote on In­sta­gram.

“To the whole @ride­likea­girl­movie team, what a jour­ney it’s been, I’m thank­ful to all of you. We did it! Can’t wait to share this story with the world.”

Teresa plans to be back to at­tend her first Mel­bourne Cup in Novem­ber. She’s hop­ing a trailer of the film, based on Michelle’s his­toric 2015 Mel­bourne Cup win, will premiere on the day.
