Ride over but Tez gallops back for the Cup
Payne joined Teresa Palmer on set as filming wrapped on their movie Ride Like a Girl.
The Melbourne Cupwinning jockey thanked the cast and crew for their dedication in bringing her story to life over the past three months.
The film features many famous names including director Rachel Griffiths who makes a cameo appearance playing a nun.
Adelaide actress Teresa, who plays Michelle, right, in the Aussie movie, has taken to social media to thank Michelle for her support. “Thank you @michellejpayne_ for entrusting me with your inspirational story. I’m honoured and humbled. Life changing and moving in every way,” Teresa wrote on Instagram.
“To the whole @ridelikeagirlmovie team, what a journey it’s been, I’m thankful to all of you. We did it! Can’t wait to share this story with the world.”
Teresa plans to be back to attend her first Melbourne Cup in November. She’s hoping a trailer of the film, based on Michelle’s historic 2015 Melbourne Cup win, will premiere on the day.
