New market gets panel’s go-ahead
SEPTEMBER OPENING ON THE CARDS
PLANS for a seven-day marketplace in the Swan Valley will go ahead after the East Metro Joint Development Assessment Panel approved the plans earlier this month.
The panel gave approval for the facility on Lennard Street in Herne Hill, which will include an art gallery, artist studio, growers’ market, conference facility, grape processing facility, winery and cellar door sales.
The market, which is expected to be named Swan Settlers Market, will replace the Midland Military Markets, which burnt down 10 years ago. The market is due to be opened by September.
The panel’s approval is valid for two years from the date of approval.
