All Ellenbrook Eels teams are in finals
ELLENBROOK Eels travelled to Brentwood Booragoon to play their 300th game since establishing in 2002.
The weather proved a challenge, with a stiff breeze heading one direction all day that made players from both sides work hard for possessions. Spurred on by supporters and life members, the league squad managed to come home stronger and win by five points. Now in third position, the Eels head into their finals campaign full of confidence. The Eels won 8.9 (57) to 8.4 (52) The reserves managed a five-point win to finish minor premiers, giving them the week off in another tilt at a flag.
The colts hosted Kwinana, holding them to just nine points and winning by 60 points, finishing in third place on the ladder.
Third grade suffered a 32-point defeat by Ballajura that now leaves third grade in fourth position on the ladder.
“All teams into finals is a true credit not only to the much improved playing group but all volunteers, staff and supporters,” said life member Andrew Ward. “It’s a fantastic position to be in.”
