Volunteer firefighters exceed expectations
BULLSBROOK Volunteer Fire and Emergency Service member Adrian Goh is a finalist for the 2017 Firefighting Awards this weekend.
He is one of three finalists for the volunteer fire and emergency services category, while Gingin Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service member Nikki Woods is a finalist for the volunteer fire and rescue service category.
Darling Range Bush Fire Brigade’s John Edward Duff is a finalist for the Murray Lang Bush Fire Service of WA award.
Department of Fire and Emergency Services commissioner Wayne Gregson said the awards honoured individuals and groups who had shown dedication to duty beyond expectations.
Winners will be announced on Sunday, September 10 during the WA Fire and Emergency Services Conference at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
DFES will also present the Volunteer Marine Rescue Services Awards on Saturday, September 9 during the three-day conference.
Lancelin Volunteer Marine Rescue Group is a finalist for the award for youth achievement or contribution to youth development.
Jurien Bay VMR’s Christine Heu is also a finalist for the outstanding individual contribution category.
