Judge praises Hills wine

The Advocate (Perth) - - NEWS -

WINE makers in the Perth Hills could rival those of the Swan Valley region and others around the world, according to one of Australia’s most influential wine critics.

Internationally renowned judge Ian Mackenzie attended the Perth Hills Wine Show last week at the Zig Zag Cultural Centre.

Mr Mackenzie said the new varieties in the region were a point of difference the area could market and promote.

“The thing that struck me was the diversity,” he said.

“Mediterranean versions in the area show there is some pretty darn good winemaking in the region.”
