Poetry in Toodyay

WA Bush Po­ets and Yarn­spin­ners are host­ing the Aus­tralian Poetry Cham­pi­onships in Toodyay next month.

The event will pro­vide a stage for the best po­ets across the na­tion as they com­pete for cham­pion ti­tles.

En­try is free to all ses­sions from Novem­ber 3-5 in the vil­lage Memo­rial Hall.

Queens­land poet Noel Stal­lard will start the event with a two-hour work­shop for par­tic­i­pants in the art of bush poetry writ­ing and per­form­ing at the CWA rooms.

There will be free en­ter­tain­ment on Fri­day with singer­song­writer Drum­mond, a de­scen­dent of the Drum­mond fam­ily in Toodyay and WA band The Loaded Dog will host a free bush dance with BYO food and re­fresh­ments on Satur­day.
