Sandalford enters tourism hall of fame
SANDALFORD Wines has received two awards in the Catering Institute of WA Gold Plate Awards, bringing their total to 15 and making them the most awarded venue in the award’s 52-year history.
The winery won the awards in the categories of Best Modern Australian and Best Tourism Restaurant.
It also won gold at the WA Tourism Awards earlier this month in the categories of Tourism Wineries, Breweries and Distilleries and Chinese Tourism.
Chief executive Grant Brinklow said it had been a big month for announcements at the winery, with the news also that singer Neil Diamond would be performing there next year.
He said the team at Sandalford were proud to be part of making the Swan Valley a world class tourism destination.
“We are proud to be part of the tourism industry in the Swan Valley and extend our congratulations to the other local businesses who have received accolades in recent awards,” he said.
“Our Sandalford team apply hard work and commitment to our vision every single day of the year and their focus on winning these awards commences at the beginning of each year.”
Sandalford Wines will now enter the Hall of Fame in the WA Tourism Awards after winning the Tourism Winery category for three consecutive years.
Mr Brinklow said the Neil Diamond concert was the first show at the winery in the past year and was set to bring more than 16,000 people into the region.
“There is no where else in the world where you can drive 20 minutes from the CBD and be in a premier wine region – it’s world class,” he said.
“The Swan Valley has award winning wineries, distillers, restaurants and microbreweries and this is being increasingly recognised, especially with Chinese tourists.”
Neil Diamond will perform at Sandalford Wines on April 14. Buy tickets at www.sandalford.com
