Probe into car fire

PO­LICE are seek­ing the pub­lic’s as­sis­tance af­ter a car fire in Bayswater last week which caused ex­ten­sive dam­age.

Around 1.15am on De­cem­ber 27, a white Nis­san Navara cab util­ity was set alight at the top of Spencer Street near Col­lier Road.

The ve­hi­cle then rolled down Spencer Street to­wards Ray­mond Av­enue be­fore crash­ing through the gates of a com­mer­cial prop­erty.

Po­lice said the ve­hi­cle then con­tin­ued on, crash­ing into the brick wall of a ware­house and caus­ing struc­tural dam­age to the wall and en­try.

Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent and would like to speak to any­one who was in the area be­tween 1am and 2am and who saw any sus­pi­cious per­sons or ve­hi­cles.
