Driver hurt in chase
AN innocent driver has leg and chest injuries after a head-on crash with a 4WD earlier involved in a chase with police in Perth.
Officers were pursuing a Holden Commodore and stolen Toyota Prado on Great Northern Highway in Upper Swan about 11.14pm on Wednesday.
The Prado made a U-turn and sped off on the wrong side of the road and soon after crashed into a Toyota Corolla.
The Corolla’s 20-year-old driver had to be cut from the car and taken to Royal Perth Hospital with leg and chest injuries.
The occupants in the Prado fled.
A police officer, who injured an ankle chasing a suspect when the Commodore was stopped, was taken to Midland Hospital for treatment.
Patrols failed to find the people who fled. The Major Crash unit is investigating.
