Think­ing Green work­shops

THE City of Swan is host­ing a se­ries of Think­ing Green work­shops to en­cour­age com­mu­nity mem­bers to be­come more sus­tain­able and kinder to the en­vi­ron­ment.

The work­shops will run at the City’s pub­lic libraries be­tween Jan­uary and June at Bulls­brook, Mid­land, Al­tone, Bal­la­jura, El­len­brook, Guild­ford – as well as some classes in Wood­bridge, Gidge­gan­nup and Caver­sham.

The work­shops range from keep­ing back­yard chick­ens, de­clut­ter­ing, sus­tain­able house de­sign, wa­ter wise ir­ri­ga­tion, to frogfriendly gar­dens, worm farm­ing and home com­post­ing.

Deputy Mayor Kevin Bai­ley said he hoped the work­shops would in­spire peo­ple to care for the en­vi­ron­ment and im­prove their well­be­ing.

“The City of Swan is com­mit­ted to be­ing a sus­tain­able or­gan­i­sa­tion and we en­cour­age our res­i­dents to ‘think green’ and live a more en­vi­ron­men­tally friendly life­style where pos­si­ble,” he said.
