Council to vote on Masters plan
THE City of Swan will vote tonight on plans to convert the Masters building in Ellenbrook into a showroom, with fast food outlets and a discount department store.
The development is due to go before the Metro-east Joint Development Assessment Panel next month after being refused in September 2017.
Sean Fairfoul from Rowe Group, acting on behalf of Vicinity Centres, spoke against the motion at the agenda briefing session last Wednesday night, saying the development would have a negative impact on Ellenbrook Central.
He said he did not believe current projections would support another discount department store.
Paul Kotsoglo from Planning Solutions spoke in favour of the proposal.
He said the development could create 134 jobs.
