Fundraiser for the homeless
FUNDRAISING IN STYLE FOR MUMS
The Abbey in the Swan Valley will host a Mother’s Fashion Show this month to raise money for two important causes.
The fashion show, which will feature clothing from Kimbos Midland, will raise money for the Perth Homeless Support Group and the Cancer Council.
The event includes a glass of bubbles on arrival and nibbles after the show, as well as a ladies’ goody bag.
Paula Turton from Perth Homeless Support Group said the joint fundraiser would allow two charity groups to continue the work they do.
“For the Perth Homeless Support Group, we will be able to purchase non-perishable food items and toiletries and now winter is upon us, seasonal items to assist the homeless in the cold winter months, including sleeping bags, blankets, beanie, scarves and socks,” she said.
“We are hoping to have between 80 and 120 attendees to raise funds for both charities.”
The event will be held at The Abbey, which has recently opened up where Chester’s used to be in the Swan Valley.
Manager Simone Schelfhout said The Abbey was pleased to be able to give back.
“It’s a really fantastic cause and it’s great to be part of it and give back to the community,” she said.
The Mother’s Day Fashion Show will be held at The Abbey on May 20 from 6pm.
Men are invited to attend the event and will enjoy wine tasting while the fashion show is being held.
Tickets are $25 and can be bought from www.trybooking.com.
