Rate rise on the agenda
CITY of Swan councillors will vote on the 2018-19 annual general rates increase tonight, with Council considering no rate rise as an option.
Two proposals have been put before – one being a zero per cent rate rise and the other a 1.8 per cent rise.
If the council adopts to have no rate rise, there will be a $2.7 million shortfall, with cuts to capital works and essential services as a result.
Councillors will vote at tonight’s ordinary council meeting.
