The Advocate (Perth) - - WHAT'S ON -

REIWA and its agents are again supporting The Salvation Army’s annual Sleeping Bag Appeal to help the homeless during the colder months.

The appeal encourages West Australians to donate sleeping bags and blankets, which The Salvation Army distributes to those in need.

REIWA president Hayden Groves said for those living rough on our streets, the winter months were especially difficult.

“Most of us take it for granted that we have a roof over our head and a warm, safe place to sleep at night,” he said.

“However, for the growing number of homeless people in our state, this is not their reality.

“The Salvos’ Sleeping Bag Appeal is a small way you can help bring some much-needed warmth and comfort to those sleeping rough on our streets.

“West Australians are well known for their generosity, so I encourage everyone who is in a position to help, to donate a sleeping bag or blanket to this very worthy cause.”

If you would like to be a part of the real estate industry’s support of the homeless, you can donate new or freshly laundered sleeping bags or blankets at the following collection points until June 22: HKY Real Estate, 12 Main Street, Ellenbrook; Roleystone Real Estate, 2 Soldiers Road, Roleystone; SABRE Real Estate, Unit 7, 151 James Street, Guildford.
