Strong re­sponse sought

AP­PLI­CA­TIONS are open for the fourth round of the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment’s Stronger Com­mu­ni­ties pro­gram.

Grants range be­tween $2500 and $20,000 and pre­vi­ous re­cip­i­ents have in­cluded Quinns Dis­trict Net­ball Club, which re­ceived fund­ing for net­ball equip­ment.

Pearce MHR Chris­tian Porter said other suc­cess­ful ap­pli­ca­tions in pre­vi­ous rounds in­cluded Swan Ath­letic Sport­ing Club for carpark up­grades, Park­land Vil­las in El­len­brook for IT up­grades and Avon Val­ley Arts So­ci­ety for ex­hi­bi­tion light­ing.

Mr Porter said or­gan­i­sa­tions could lodge ex­pres­sions of in­ter­est for their projects via www.chris­tian­ un­til Au­gust 31.

“I will be work­ing closely again with a com­mu­nity con­sul­ta­tive com­mit­tee,” Mr Porter said.

“We are es­pe­cially keen on projects that im­prove com­mu­nity in­volve­ment and con­trib­ute to cre­at­ing vi­brant and vi­able com­mu­ni­ties.”
