Emu Park School still grow­ing

QUEENS­LAND Ed­u­ca­tion min­is­ter Kate Jones of­fi­cially opened a $2.8 mil­lion teach­ing block at Emu Park State School as part of the Gov­ern­ment’s record in­fra­struc­ture in­vest­ment in State schools.

“In the Cen­tral Queens­land ed­u­ca­tion re­gion, we are in­vest­ing around $55 mil­lion across the 2016-17 fi­nan­cial year in school in­fra­struc­ture projects,” Ms Jones said.

The min­is­ter was joined by Mem­ber for Kep­pel Brit­tany Luaga at Emu Park, an area which has seen ex­ten­sive lo­cal com­mu­nity devel­op­ment.

Emu Park State School ca­pac­ity has in­creased to around 640 stu­dents, with en­rol­ments up from 300 stu­dents in 2012 to 510 stu­dents this year.
