The Australian Education Reporter - - NEWS -

SAFE Drive Training (SDT) has more than 22 years’ experience delivering a range of driver education products, workshops and training programs to schools.

To date, SDT has sold 25 driving simulators across Australia in Cocos Islands, Christmas Island, Port Hedland, Karratha, Perth, Kalgoorlie, Adelaide, Hobart, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Lismore, Wollongong, Brisbane, Hervey Bay, Cairns, Townsville and Darwin.

With simulators overseas in Dubai and Qatar, schools in the US have also expressed interest in SDT simulator products.

SDT simulators can demonstrate fatigue, distractions, changes in reaction time, braking distance, coefficient of friction and can allow different cars, weather, traffic conditions and emergency scenarios to be encountered in a safe environment.

They can also demonstrate the impairments from alcohol using the Fatal Vision alcohol impairment goggles which reproduce the effects of intoxication, allowing students to experience the simulated dangers of drunk driving.

While perfect for driver education in schools, the simulators also have applications in Physics and Health Sciences as students learn and retain lessons from hands-on experience.

SDT simulators are a great way to engage students in driver education and are available for hire for Safety Expos. SDT can provide a driver trainer on site to facilitate workshops and training.
