THE University of Southern QLD’S (USQ) Sustainable Energy Solution project has been recognised at the Clean Energy Council 2017 Solar Design and Installation awards.

Matthew Linney and Peter Cook, working with Autonomous Energy, took out the ‘Over 240 kw’ category at the awards announced at the All-energy Australia Exhibition and Conference on 11 October.

Their work, a 1.1MW solar carpark shading system at USQ Toowoomba, will help the University reduce its electricity costs and cut down on its daytime grid electricity consumption.

It will also significantly lower USQ’S total carbon emissions (by 20 percent).
