Lin­coln Gap breaks ground

IN­DE­PEN­DENT power pro­ducer Nexif En­ergy has be­gun con­struc­tion on its $450 mil­lion Lin­coln Gap wind farm, west of Port Au­gusta.

The 212 megawatt (MW) project is sched­uled to gen­er­ate be­tween 110 and 130 jobs dur­ing con­struc­tion.

Nexif En­ergy Aus­tralia chief ex­ec­u­tive Zeki Ak­bas said the wind farm will op­er­ate for more than 25 years to pro­vide green, clean en­ergy for the State.

The project com­prises up to 59 Sen­vion wind tur­bines and al­lowances for bat­tery stor­age of power, and is ex­pected to be­gin com­mis­sion­ing in late 2018.
