Meree­nie project moves ahead

CEN­TRAL Petroleum and its joint ven­ture part­ner Mac­quarie Group will pro­ceed with their Meree­nie gas project af­ter the ACCC ap­proved joint mar­ket­ing ar­range­ments.

The de­vel­op­ment in­cludes drilling of WM26 and an im­me­di­ate $12 mil­lion up­grade of the pro­cess­ing plant, aimed at in­creas­ing ca­pac­ity from 25 ter­a­joules per day to 63Tj/day.

In late March, Cen­tral an­nounced an En­sign rig was mak­ing its way to the site in prepa­ra­tion for the start of a three-well drilling pro­gram to com­mence in April.

The plant up­grade was also ex­pected to be com­plete by De­cem­ber.
