Vir­tual power plant gets back­ing

SIM­PLY En­ergy will build a $23 mil­lion se­cond vir­tual power plant in Ade­laide that will de­liver Tesla Pow­er­wall 2 home bat­ter­ies to up to 1200 house­holds.

The vir­tual power plant, par­tially funded by the Fed­eral Gov­ern­ment, will be up and run­ning by the end of 2019, and cre­ate 6 megawatts (MW) of res­i­den­tial stor­age, and a fur­ther 2MW of de­mand re­sponse ca­pac­ity across 10 com­mer­cial busi­nesses.

The project fol­lows AGL’S $5 mil­lion vir­tual power plant in Ade­laide across 1000 homes and busi­nesses.
