Downer awarded con­tract ex­ten­sion

DOWNER EDI has se­cured a $286 mil­lion con­tract ex­ten­sion to pro­vide ad­di­tional services at Milmer­ran Power Part­ners’ Com­modore open cut coal mine.

The five-year ex­ten­sion in­cluded op­er­at­ing and man­ag­ing the mine, mine plan­ning and de­sign, drill and blast, re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and more un­til Au­gust 2024.

“We are de­lighted to be con­tin­u­ing this 17-year part­ner­ship,” Downer chief ex­ec­u­tive Grant Fenn said.

The deal fol­lowed Downer’s re­cent con­tract wins, in­clud­ing a $120 mil­lion con­tract at the CSA mine in NSW, and $660 mil­lion un­der­ground min­ing services con­tract at Car­ra­p­ateena.
