Harley-David­son board mem­ber, for­mer pres­i­dent and chief ex­ec­u­tive of Levi Strauss & Co. An­der­son, now 61, gained his com­merce de­gree (eco­nom­ics and mar­ket­ing) from the Univer­sity of NSW (1969). First job was sales­man with H. J. Heinz. Joined Levi Strauss in 1979 as a prod­uct man­ager in Aus­tralia, then worked in Europe with Levi’s brand. Was pres­i­dent of Asia- Pa­cific division, also headed Levi Strauss in Canada and Latin Amer­ica, be­fore be­com­ing chief oper­at­ing of­fi­cer in July 2006 and then chief ex­ec­u­tive in Novem­ber that year. De­scribes him­self as “com­pet­i­tive”, names de­ci­sion to en­ter China in 2002 and main­tain pres­ence in In­dia as best busi­ness moves. Re­tired from Levi Strauss in Septem­ber 2011. Joined the board of iconic US mo­tor­cy­cle man­u­fac­turer Harley- David­son in Oc­to­ber 2010.
