Qual­i­fied bar­ris­ter and so­lic­i­tor of Supreme Court of Vic­to­ria and fel­low of the In­sti­tute of Char­tered Ac­coun­tants. Spent six years with ICI be­fore join­ing KPMG in 1984; part­ner since 1988. Part­ner in charge, in­ter­na­tional tax cen­tre, Am­s­ter­dam 1992-94. Manag­ing part­ner of Aus­tralian tax prac­tice 1997-2001 and manag­ing part­ner, Mel­bourne, and deputy chair­man of KPMG Aus­tralia 2001- 07. Chair­man, Asia- Pa­cific and Aus­tralia 2007-11. Named global chair­man for fouryear term from Oc­to­ber 2011. Keen golfer and race­horse breeder; fol­lows cricket and AFL’s Mel­bourne Demons. Sup­ports in­dige­nous community part­ner­ships in Aus­tralia. Mar­ried to Mardi, with two adult chil­dren.
