What skills are required to lead today?
The person at the top cannot learn for the organisation as a whole any more. Things have become too complicated, and leadership must, as Peter Senge said, become “leadership for learning”. It is now possible – and important – for people throughout an organisation to behave as leaders. The new collaborative systems that are being designed actually call for this. Talent and leadership from anywhere in your organisation – and even from outside of it – must be harnessed.
